My Baby Turned 2!

Ian turned 2 recently, so being the loving responsible parents that we are, we threw him a birthday party. Yeesin was kinda enough to come help me with food and various other stuffs, which made the party possible. We made belacan chicken wings, curry chicken, char-siu, mixed vegetable and spring rolls and pizza for the kids. For desserts, we had pumpkin pie and of course, cake.

Surprisingly, my in-laws were not too repelled by the food. I was expecting them to eat mostly char-siu and not touched the curry chicken, but they thought the curry chicken was good. The wings were popular with the Malaysians, but not so much with the Olathian.

It turned out Ian had a bit of a fever that day, so he was a little clingy. He also accidentally bit his lips in that morning when he fell down from tripping at the ledge between kitchen and the entryway. But after some calming and reassuring him that we would not leave him with Kimmie, he was quite happy playing with Andrew, We got him a new sweater, a set of wooden ABC blocks, and a new set of fork and spoon. He also got a new winter jacket, a plush lion and a GeoTrax plane and refueling station.

Yellow Invasion at X'mas Tree Farm

On a crisp autumn day of November sunshine, one cina-man and two cina-poh invaded the christmas farm in Lecompton, Kansas. Armed with direction scribbled on a used post-it note by the lone mat salleh in the group, we set out to hunt for the perfect christmas tree. Somehow, we managed to get lost in the one-street town of Lecompton. The problem: the christmas farm was really outside the city limit of Lecompton, not IN Lecompton like it was said on their website.

After one bumpy ride on the tractor-pulled wagon, where the man-cub screamed and yelled in horror due to his lack of confidence in this primitive mode of transportation. After a thorough scientific evaluation, we found the tree which deserved the honour of gracing our living room for this holiday season, the two men were dispatched to saw the tree. Check out the cute butt in those pants!!!

After some help from the tree farm owner in shaking needles and netting the tree, we finally got the tree all loaded on our SUV and brought it home for decorating.
